From Anime NYC Thursday night, Netflix unveiled new trailers and images for its expanding adult-focused anime lineup, which includes Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, Devil May Cry, Blue Eye Samurai, Sakamoto Days, and Record of Ragnarok.
Netflix has established itself as a preferred hub for adult animation, showcasing a range of acclaimed series like Emmy-nominated Arcane and Love, Death + Robots, as well as fan favorites such as Castlevania and Castlevania: Nocturne, along with forthcoming titles like Magic: the Gathering and Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2.

Netflix announced the official teaser, the premiere date of October 14, and confirmed that Kirby Howell-Baptiste will voice agent Zinnia McKenna in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. A trailer for this project was shown at Annecy earlier this summer.
Splinter Cell is an animated series based on the award-winning espionage video game franchise from Ubisoft. The narrative follows Sam Fisher (voiced by Liev Schreiber), a black ops agent serving the U.S. government’s “The Fourth Echelon.”
The series is helmed by directors Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage, while John Wick writer Derek Kolstad serves as head writer and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Helene Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gerard Guillemot from Ubisoft Film & Television. The animation is produced by Sun Creature and Fost.

Season 1 of the video game adaptation premiered at #4 on the global top 10 list, amassing 5.3 million views within just three days and reaching the top 10 in 87 countries, with a launch score of 95% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The series is overseen by showrunner Adi Shankar, with animation by Studio Mir.
Blue Eye Samurai
Fans were treated to a sneak peek of Season 2 of the critically acclaimed Blue Eye Samurai, which dominated the 2024 Annie Awards and earned a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program along with three Individual Achievement in Animation awards. New images and a first-look featurette were also showcased.
Blue Eye Samurai is an action-drama set in Edo-period Japan centering on Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a mixed-race sword master living under an assumed identity in search of vengeance. The voice cast also includes George Takei, Masi Oka, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Brenda Song, Darren Barnet, Randall Park, and Kenneth Branagh.
The series, created, written, and executive produced by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, will see Ultraman: Rising co-director John Aoshima join as a guest director for Season 2, as previously announced when he signed an overall deal with Netflix. Erwin Stoff serves as executive producer, Jane Wu is supervising director and producer, and Blue Spirit handles the animation.
Sakamoto Days
The wacky retired hitman tale of Sakamoto Days is set to continue in Part 2, highlighted by a mid-season trailer and a variety of new images revealed during the Netflix showcase. The first half of Season 1 kept a spot on the Netflix Global Top 10 TV (non-English) list for 10 straight weeks, with Part 2 having started its rollout on July 14.
Once an infamous hitman, Taro Sakamoto (voiced by Matthew Mercer) stepped back from his life of crime in the name of love. However, when his past resurfaces, he must fight to safeguard his cherished family.
With voices from Dallas Liu, Rosalie Chiang, Rosie Okumura, Xolo Maridueña, Aleks Le, Vinnie Hacker, and Jacob Bertrand, the anime series is overseen by director Masaki Watanabe (Battle Spirits, Code Geass) with series composition managed by Taku Kishimoto. TMS Entertainment is responsible for animation production.
Record of Ragnarok
Lastly, the might of gods and humans from across time and cultures is unleashed in a fresh trailer for Record of Ragnarok III, signaling the ultimate confrontation between the divine and mankind!
