Shabake Reveals New Visual, Trailer, More Cast & Ending Theme, Premieres October 3

A new key visual, second trailer, additional cast members, and ending theme song have been announced for the upcoming Shabake TV anime series, which is set to premiere in Japan on October 3, 2025.

The new trailer showcases the show’s main ending theme “Myaku-Myaku” by KAFUNÉ. The opening theme will be “Inochi no Parade” by Kujira.

Furthermore, the new cast members joining the series include:

• Daisuke Namikawa as Nozoki Byobu
• Seiichiro Yamashita as Matsunosuke
• Shimba Tsuchiya as Eikichi
• Shion Wakayama as Oharu
• Akira Sekine as Suzuhiko-hime
• Shinya Takahashi as Noderabo
• Misako Tomioka as Kawauso
• Akane Matsunaga as Yanari (1)
• Aika Wakuno as Yanari (2)
• Takako Tanaka as Yanari (3)

These actors join the previously announced voice cast featuring Daiki Yamashita as Ichitaro, Koji Okino as Nikichi, and Taku Yashiro as Sasuke.
Takahiro Okawa (Mononogatari assistant director) is directing the anime adaptation, with Toko Machida (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human) as series screenwriter and Akari Minagawa (Attack on Titan Final Season The Final Chapters co-animation director) as character designer. BN Pictures is responsible for the animation production.
The anime is adapted from the historical fantasy novel series written by Megumi Hatakenaka, first published by Shinchosha on December 1, 2001, and has released 23 volumes by July 2024. This book series received an Excellence Award at the 13th Nihon Fantasy Novel Taishou in 2001.
The novel series led to a manga adaptation by Mimori that was published in Monthly Comic Bunch magazine from 2017 to 2023, resulting in four tankoon volumes. It also led to a short ONA by Shuka in July 2021, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the novel series.
