The Barbarian’s Bride anime adaptation has been postponed to April 2026, with the intention of enhancing its quality. The anime was initially scheduled to debut in October.

The creator of the original manga series, Noriaki Kotoba, also shared a message on his official X/Twitter account, expressing his apologies to fans and outlining various factors that contributed to the delay. He included an illustration of the lead character, Serafina de Lavillant, featuring the new premiere date.

The Barbarian’s Bride is a romantic comedy fantasy manga created by Noriaki Kotoba. It has been published in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine since January 2021, and nine volumes have been issued. The tenth volume is expected to be released in Japan on October 9, 2025 JST.

Seven Seas Entertainment has acquired the rights and is distributing the manga in English. The series is described as:
Serafina de Lavillant, the most powerful female knight in the West, was dispatched to conquer the barbaric tribes of the East. However, when her mission fails dramatically, she is captured and imprisoned. Facing humiliation and terrified of the terrible torture that awaits her, she requests execution. To her shock, instead of torturing her, the tribe leader proposes marriage! Will Serafina endure a harsh and cruel arranged marriage? Or will she uncover that these tribes aren’t as barbaric as she was led to believe?
