A brief new teaser trailer has been released for the There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless… ~Next Shine~ anime. This upcoming anime acts as a special theatrical edition to the There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless… TV anime series, set to begin screening in Japanese theaters on November 21, 2025.
The sequel anime will consist of five episodes, covering episodes 13-17, which adapt the fourth volume of the light novel series. Natsumi Uchinuma, known for her work as storyboard artist and director for More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers ending animation, Episode 4 and 8, directed the first season. Naruhisa Arakawa, also from More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, serves as series screenwriter, while Takao Kato, chief director of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, acts as advisor. Animation production is handled by Studio MOTHER.

The original yuri romantic comedy light novel series, written by Teren Mikami and illustrated by Eku Takeshima, first debuted under Shueisha’s Dash x Bunko imprint on February 21, 2020, and has released a total of eight volumes, including two short story collections, by September 2025.
Additionally, the light novels inspired a manga adaptation by Musshu in May 2020.
