During this week’s IGN Fan Fest, anime enthusiasts were treated to an exclusive glimpse at the first episode of the impending high-fantasy drama series Witch Hat Atelier. The show premieres April 6 exclusively on Crunchyroll.
Synopsis: In a realm where only witches are capable of casting magic, they must remain concealed from ordinary individuals while performing their spells. As Coco takes care of her daily tasks, she fantasizes about becoming a witch. When a young witch named Qifrey arrives in her village, Coco discovers the “absolute secret,” becomes Qifrey’s apprentice, and embarks on her journey of learning. This is the tale of children who encounter despair but strive toward hope.
In this brief first look clip, viewers witness the moment when bright-eyed Coco meets the extraordinary Qifrey for the first time.
Witch Hat Atelier is adapted from the critically acclaimed manga series by Kamome Shirahama. The manga began its serialization with Kodansha in 2016 and has sold over 7 million copies globally, garnering numerous international accolades, including the Eisner Award and Harvey Award.
