©2025「ChaO」製作委員会A two-minute “special video” for the mermaid x human anime romance film ChaO has been unveiled. This new glimpse at the film showcases a dance by the main heroine Chao and features the insert song “Anata no Tame ni.”
ChaO is set to premiere in Japan on August 15 JST, with plans for screenings in North America, thanks to GKIDS. The story unfolds in a universe of humans and mermaids, focusing on male protagonist Stephan, who works in a shipbuilding company as an office employee. A proposal from Chao, a mermaid princess, introduces a significant transformation in his life.
ChaO was honored with the Jury Award in the Feature Film category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025.
