It was announced at Aniplex Online Fest 2025 that Amazon Prime Video will stream the anime in Japan, starting on October 3, 2025, a week ahead of its terrestrial broadcast.
Kazuya Sakamoto (She and Her Cat: Everything Flows) is directing the anime adaptation, with Deko Akao (VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral After Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream) as series screenwriter and Eriko Haga (Kaginado) as character designer. LIDENFILMS is handling the animation production, while LIDENFILMS Tokyo Studio is credited with the series’ main production.
The series began as a web novel by Nana Otori on AlphaPolis starting on April 10, 2018. It was then published as a light novel series on August 6, 2018 with new illustrations by Satsuki. Six volumes have been released as of July 2025.
The action fantasy light novels later inspired a manga adaptation by Sora Hoonoki in June 2019, which is currently published in English on the Alpha Manga app.
