This weekend at Jump Festa in Japan, DMM.com LLC presented a wealth of new details concerning the forthcoming release of the KILL BLUE anime (kill-blue.us). Scheduled to debut in April 2026, the event unveiled a fresh teaser trailer highlighting the vibrant characters featured in this adaptation of the eccentric Shonen Jump manga (Shueisha), along with the actors who will voice them.
Tadatoshi Fujimaki, the mind behind the KILL BLUE manga and the well-regarded Kuroko’s Basketball and ROBOTxLASERBEAM series, also conveyed the following message to fans during the event:
“Thank you all for attending the KILL BLUE stage here at Jump Festa! At long last, KILL BLUE is … becoming an anime! I suppose saying ‘at long last’ might seem a bit dramatic, but … Yes, it’s truly becoming an anime!

Synopsis: A legendary assassin at 39. Starting anew … as a middle schooler.

The series is produced by CUE studio in Japan, which was established by former Production I.G producer Kuroki Rui in collaboration with DMM.com. The first four volumes of Fujimaki’s manga series are now available in the U.S., with the fifth volume scheduled for release on February 3, 2026, and the sixth on April 7, 2026.
Cast & Characters
It was previously disclosed that Shunsuke Takeuchi will portray Jūzō Ōgami (Adult), but the supporting cast will now include a variety of talented and accomplished performers who shared their insights on their new roles:
Yuko Sanpei as Jūzō Ōgami, a 39-year-old legendary hitman turned child who rediscovers his enthusiasm for life through the classes he takes while undercover at Rikka Middle School.
Fuka Izumi as Noren Mitsuoka, the daughter of the major corporation Mitsuoka Pharmaceuticals who helps out her uncle’s ramen shop and becomes a target for assassins for unknown reasons.
Shuichiro Umeda as Kotatsu Nekota, Jūzō’s ally in the assassin outfit “Z.O.O.” who aids Jūzō both in his everyday life and during missions.
Takeo Otsuka as Tenma Tendo, a second-year student endowed with superhuman athletic prowess, making him part of “Unicorn,” a group of elite students at Rikka Middle School.
Atsumi Tanezaki as Chisato Shiraishi, a third-year student at Rikka Middle School and the leader of the Home Economics Club, whom Jūzō affectionately calls “Anego” or “Big Sis.”
Yumi Uchiyama as Eri Wanibuchi, an exceptional scientist within “Z.O.O.” who is Jūzō’s ex-wife and is currently searching for a way to transform him back into an adult.
