Warner Bros. Japan LLC has announced that the latest anime series STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is set to debut exclusively on Netflix on March 19, 2026. The series will kick off with a special 47-minute episode titled “1st Stage.” In addition to the streaming announcement, a new main trailer and fresh characters have also been revealed.
Synopsis: The year is 1890, and the Steel Ball Run — the inaugural horse racing championship stretching across the North American continent — is about to commence. Covering around 4,000 miles, the race boasts a winning prize of 50 million dollars.
Johnny Joestar, once celebrated as a genius jockey, now faces paralysis and despair. He discovers hope through the mysterious abilities exhibited by Gyro Zeppeli, an outlaw with intentions of winning the race, motivating him to join the Steel Ball Run.

With individual goals, the two forge an alliance and embark on a challenging journey alongside the race.
Animated by david production, known for their work on every JoJo series till now, STEEL BALL RUN is under the supervision of directors Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi (Golden Wind), series director Toshiyuki Kato (Stone Ocean, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan), and the series structure is crafted by Yasuko Kobayashi (all JoJo series). The main creative team also features character designer Daisuke Tsumagari (Stone Ocean, Golden Wind), composer Yugo Kanno (Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind, Stone Ocean), and sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami (a consistent presence in every JoJo series).

The spouse of Steven Steel, the organizer of the Steel Ball Run race. Despite a significant age disparity, she offers him emotional support and bears a striking resemblance to Steven’s first love.

The mastermind behind the Steel Ball Run Race, the first horseback race to span across the entirety of North America in human history. He is a seasoned promoter with four decades of experience.
Sand Man – Voiced by Masaaki Mizunaka
A resolute young man who enters the Steel Ball Run Race to obtain its substantial monetary prize, with the goal of reclaiming his tribe’s land. Remarkably, he runs in the race unmounted, relying solely on his own legs.

A farmer who enters the Steel Ball Run Race for its lucrative prize money after a fortune teller foretold he had one-in-five-billion luck during the event. Despite his extraordinarily laid-back personality, he navigates through a series of misadventures owing to his remarkable fortune.
