Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon (Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon: My Trusted Companions Tried to Kill Me, But Thanks to the Gift of an Unlimited Gacha I Got LVL 9999 Friends and Am Out For Revenge on My Former Party Members and the World) is adapted from the light novel series authored by Meikyou Shisui with illustrations by tef. J-Novel Club summarizes the story as follows:
When Light gets expelled from the Concord of the Tribes, his previous allies betray him immediately. Light narrowly escapes this vicious act of treachery, only to find himself in the Abyss, the most perilous dungeon in the world! To prevent becoming a meal for the bloodthirsty monsters, he utilizes the Unlimited Gacha, his only magical ability. This time, instead of producing worthless items, it conjures Mei—a stunning Level 9999 combatant in a maid outfit! Fast forward three years, and Light has established his own realm within this remote dungeon, summoning more breathtaking Level 9999 warriors who pledge unwavering loyalty to him. The series is distributed through Hobby Japan’s HJ Novels imprint and comprises 12 volumes as of April 2025. It also has a manga adaptation by Takafumi Omae, available in English from Seven Seas Entertainment.
