Additionally, it has overtaken Your Name as the third highest-grossing anime film in Japan.
The film recorded a moviegoer count of 18,272,941 during this 31-day timeframe.
Last week, Infinity Castle (Gekijoban “Kimetsu no Yaiba” Mugenjou-hen Daiisshou Akaza Sairai in Japanese) surpassed ONE PIECE FILM RED to become the sixth most successful film in Japan.
Infinity Castle opened in 452 venues across Japan, including 59 IMAX locations, on July 18 JST. It began its international run this month and is set to premiere in North America on September 12.

The film marks the start of a trilogy that adapts the final conflict between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan’s demons in the Demon Slayer narrative. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime debuted with its first season in 2019, followed by Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – the Movie: Mugen Train (the highest-grossing film in Japan), a TV broadcast version of Mugen Train, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc.
The anime is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, which serialized from 2016 to 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media characterizes the manga as:
