Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Back in Japanese Theaters on October 17

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel anime film is making its way back to Japanese theaters on October 17, 2025, following an announcement at a stage event honoring Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie. A fresh trailer and key visual have also been unveiled for the new screening.

The recently released Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie started screening in Japan on May 30, 2025, compiling the first arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death Arc.” GKIDS will present the compilation film in North American theaters, featuring both English subtitles and a dubbed version on July 16, 2025. 
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen was broadcast in Japan from July to December 2023. The first season aired from October 2020 to March 2021. 
An anime adaptation of the “Culling Game Arc” has been confirmed following the conclusion of season two. Currently, Crunchyroll is streaming the TV anime series and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel spinoff anime film globally, excluding Japan. 
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is adapted from Gege Akutami‘s prequel manga series of the same name, which was initially serialized in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA from April 28, 2017 to July 28, 2017. It was subsequently published as a single volume manga in November 2018. VIZ Media is responsible for the English release of the manga. 
The primary Jujutsu Kaisen manga by Akutami was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump beginning March 5, 2018, and concluded on September 30, 2024. A total of 30 tankobon volumes were produced.

VIZ Media presents the primary synopsis of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as:
Yuta Okkotsu is a timid high school student who faces a significant issue—his childhood friend Rika has transformed into a Curse and refuses to leave him. Given that Rika is no ordinary Curse, Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school training future exorcists in Curse combat, takes notice of his predicament. Gojo persuades Yuta to join the school, but will he acquire enough skills before facing the Curse that troubles him?
