LINE Manga has revealed that the beloved webtoon Teenage Mercenary is set to receive an anime adaptation.
Teenage Mercenary is a Korean manhwa/webtoon created by YC and illustrated by Rakyeon. Since its debut in Japan on LINE Manga in April 2021, it has frequently topped the platform’s charts. It secured first place in the “LINE Manga 2023 Ranking” and was voted #1 in “LINE Manga 2024 Ranking” for serialization. The manhwa was initially launched in Korea in November 2020.
WEBTOON has licensed and is distributing Teenage Mercenary in English, releasing new episodes weekly. It describes the storyline as follows:
At the age of eight, Ijin Yu lost his parents in a plane crash and was left in a foreign land, compelled to become a child mercenary to survive. Ten years later, he returns home to be reunited with his family in Korea, where resources are abundant and life appears peaceful. However, Ijin will soon discover that being a teenager presents its own challenges. With just one year of high school remaining, Ijin must develop new strategies to navigate the school environment. Will he manage to survive a year of high school? Or will the school be able to withstand him?
