The Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association has revealed the nominees for the 2025 edition of Music Awards Japan. The awards ceremonies are set to occur at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto on May 21, 2025, and May 22, 2025.
The final nominees were chosen from around 3,000 submissions and consist of 251 nominated works by 65 artists.
Both days of the ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube (except in specific regions), while the final day of the event will be aired live in Japan on the NHK channel on May 22, 2025.
For anime enthusiasts, artists YOASOBI and Creepy Nuts garnered nominations in several significant categories at this year’s Music Awards Japan, including Best Artist, alongside Mrs. GREEN APPLE, Vaundy, and Fujii Kaze, who tops the competition with 17 nominations.

Creepy Nuts’ “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” (Mashle: Magic and Muscles The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc opening), YOASOBI’s “Idol” (OSHI NO KO Season 1 opening), and Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s “Lilac” (Oblivion Battery opening) are all contenders in the Best Song category. These three tracks are also nominated in the Best Anime Song sub-category, along with “Dai Zero Kan” by 10-FEET (The First Slam Dunk anime film ending theme).

Music Awards Japan is Japan’s largest international music awards event that honors artists and songs from Japan, Asia, and the West.
