HIDIVE has revealed that it will stream the upcoming BADGIRL TV anime series, which is part of its Summer 2025 anime simulcast roster. The series is scheduled to go live exclusively on the platform on July 5, 2025, coinciding with its debut in Japan.
Additionally, HIDIVE announced an exclusive world premiere for the first two episodes of BADGIRL at Anime Expo 2025, taking place on July 4, 2025. The panel for this premiere will be hosted at the Los Angeles Convention Center, in room 511ABC on the Level 2 concourse from 3:15 PM PST to 4:05 PM PST.
• Azusa Tachibana as Yu Yutani
• Nina Hanamiya as Atori Mizutori
• Misato Matsuoka as Suzu Suzukaze
• Miharu Hanai as Rura Ruriha
The anime draws inspiration from the 4-koma manga series by Nikumaru, which started serialization in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Carat on March 27, 2021. As of July 2024, four tankobon volumes have been published, with a fifth volume expected to be released on July 26, 2025.
HIDIVE outlines the core concept of BADGIRL as follows:
Yu Yutani is a first-year high school student recognized for her sharp eyes, large piercings, and standout two-tone hair. She has garnered a reputation as a bad girl… though that’s far from the truth. Deep down, Yu is genuinely good-natured, yet her mind is always preoccupied with thoughts of the beautiful and admired Atori Mizutori, the school’s Madonna and head of the student disciplinary committee. To capture Atori’s attention, Yu resolves to abandon her honor-student status and take on the role of a “bad delinquent!”
