A new main key visual and trailer have been unveiled for the anticipated second cour of Let This Grieving Soul Retire, which has confirmed its TV broadcast in Japan beginning on October 6, 2025. The anime will be available for early streaming on the d Anime Store and ABEMA services, starting October 4, 2025.
Masahiro Takata (The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch, The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) is at the helm of directing the anime series, with Hideki Shirane (The Duke of Death and His Maid, Date A Live Seasons 1 to 3) penning the script, and Yusuke Isochi (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It) alongside Shingo Fujisaki (Skip and Loafer Episode 4 co-animation director, Undead Murder Farce Episodes 3, 4, and 13 co-animation director) handling character designs. Animation production is being managed by ZERO-G.
In the meantime, the anime’s primary voice cast features:

The first cour premiered early on select Japanese streaming platforms on September 29, 2024, and commenced its TV broadcast on October 1, 2024. It consisted of a total of 13 episodes. Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and bilibili provided the series for overseas streaming, outside of Japan.
The original light novel series is crafted by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko. It was first released by Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label on August 30, 2018, and has published 12 volumes as of September 2024, including a collection of short stories. A 13th volume is scheduled for release in Japan on September 30, 2025. J-Novel Club is issuing the light novel series in English digitally after Sol Press’ license for the series lapsed in 2021.
The series originated as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on January 27, 2018, and has also inspired a 2019 manga by Rai Hebino. Yen Press distributes the manga adaptation in English for North America.
