Image Source: TOKYO MX YouTube ChannelThe anticipated romantic comedy, Plus-sized Misadventures in Love!, has unveiled a new trailer along with a key visual. This latest trailer showcases both the opening and ending theme songs for the series. The opening track, “Happy Yummy Lucky Yummy,” is performed by Gang Parade, while the ending theme, titled “I’m Glad It’s Me,” will be sung by Yuma Uchida, who also voices the character Keisuke Yuki. The series is set to premiere on October 6.
Kazumoi Koga (Rent-A-Girlfriend Seasons 1, 2, and 4) is at the helm of the direction for the series, with Aya Watane serving as the composer and scriptwriter. Character design is under the watch of Atsuko Takahashi (known for Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube co-animation designer), who is also a co-animation director for the series. The animation will be produced by Marvy Jack.
Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! is a romantic comedy manga penned and illustrated by Mamakari. It has been running under Comic CMOA’s Koisuru Soirée label since 2019. The manga has inspired a live-action drama adaptation that aired in 2022. MangaPlaza has acquired the license and is publishing the manga digitally on its platform. The synopsis reads:
“This is my punishment – someone as hideous as me falling for someone as good-looking as you…” Yumeko is burdened with numerous complexes about herself. A terrible accident changes her life. Though saved from the brink of death, Yumeko awakens as someone entirely different. “Is this…me…?! I’m SUPER cute!!” Those around her are astonished and amazed by this dramatic transformation… It’s not just Yumeko; her newfound positive outlook begins to influence her environment.
