At the inaugural Prime Video Presents: International Originals event in Mumbai, the Amazon-owned platform provided a first glimpse at select titles from Japan, Korea, and India. Hosted by Gaurav Gandhi, Prime Video’s Vice President, APAC & ANZ, this groundbreaking global showcase for international content spotlighted a selection of the engaging Asian offerings set to arrive on the service in 2026, with the complete lineup expected to be revealed in the upcoming months.
Anime enthusiasts will be thrilled with the introduction of three highlight titles from the streamer’s extensive 2026 Anime lineup. As anime continues to see significant global expansion, Prime Video asserts its commitment to become the premier destination for high-quality anime with a thoughtfully selected slate aimed at both dedicated fans and fresh audiences.
The announcement began with the news that Prime Video has secured exclusive worldwide rights for the definitive reboot of Fist of the North Star: Hokuto no Ken. Produced by TMS Entertainment, this reboot reimagines the highly acclaimed manga series as an animated experience that merges cutting-edge computer-generated imagery (CG) with traditional hand-drawn animation, in celebration of its 40th anniversary.
The preview also featured Science SARU’s The Ghost in the Shell, an impactful cyberpunk series delving into the relationship between humanity and technology in a hyper-connected metropolis in 2029. This title will stream exclusively on Prime Video worldwide (with the exception of Russia and China; in Japan Prime Video has an early exclusive window). Additionally, From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 2 is set to follow the success of Season 1, which ranked among Prime Video’s Top 10 titles in over 45 countries. These three titles provide just a preview of the complete 2026 Anime lineup that the streamer hints will be disclosed in the near future.
