Warner Bros. Japan LLC Anime Production has unveiled the newest information for the anticipated anime series Devils’ Crest. Initiated in 2022 under Dengeki Bunko (Kadokawa), the narrative set in a Mixed Realityworld represents a fresh creation by Reki Kawahara, the renowned writer of Sword Art Online and Accel World, featuring original illustrations by Yukiko Horiguchi.

The anime is set to premiere for exclusive global streaming on Prime Video beginning November 6.

The studio has released the initial trailer and key visual for Devils’ Crest, alongside character visuals for the series. Furthermore, the opening theme song has been confirmed as “Shinka” by Ado. “‘Shinka’ is an original composition crafted by Vocaloid producer YurryCanon,” Ado expressed. “The track delves into the merging of reality and games, questioning where our genuine emotions reside and differentiating between what is real and what is illusory. Even amid doubt and inner turmoil, it ultimately inspires faith in oneself and the drive to progress.

Synopsis: Yuma Ashihara was ready to partake in a testing session of Actual Magic (AM) — the inaugural full-dive VRMMO-RPG — alongside his classmates Sawa Ashihara, Kenji Kondo and Minagi Sano. The objective was straightforward: team up to defeat the boss, log out, and complete the test play safely — or so it was meant to happen.

“I’ve admired Reki Kawahara’s work long before I became a voice actor, so when I discovered the audition, I was flooded with enthusiasm and motivation,” remarked Yuya Hirose, the voice behind Kenji Kondon (a.k.a. KonKen). “Kenji is an energetic, playful boy — just the kind of lively personality you’d want in your class. His candor, innocence, and resilient spirit are all part of what makes him appealing. I’m striving to capture all of these traits during recording. As we don’t fully grasp what future developments lie ahead in the story, each episode keeps us on our toes during recording. I hope you’ll enjoy this world where ‘the game is also reality.’”

Satomi Amano, who provides the voice for Minagi Sano in the series, shared, “From the moment I read the narrative, I was drawn in by its intense death-game premise, which highlights each distinctive classmate. Minagi embodies my ideal type of girl — charming and somewhat delicate, yet with a strong foundation that enables her to convey her feelings openly. I will depict her with great thoughtfulness, ensuring her sincerity and natural appeal shine through. I’m also thrilled to see how the unique realm of Actual Magic and its dynamic battles are brought to life in the anime.”
