The most eye-catching addition is Dual Ultimates, which can be activated through specific character combinations — the trailer previews Tanjiro Kamado and Kyojuro Rengoku unleashing a surge of flames with a synchronized slash of their blades.
For players seeking more than just Story Mode and VS Mode, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will offer the chance to challenge the Hashira in Training Paths, where “players will progress through a sequence of tournament brackets with changing victory conditions that keep every tournament round exciting and engaging.”
In addition to these, there will be a second Ultimate Art for some characters, equipable items that provide bonuses such as poison resistance and health regeneration in both Story Mode and VS Mode, and a mode called The Path of a Demon Slayer that allows players to experience “key battles from the Unwavering Resolve Arc up to the Mugen Train Arc” to recall the storyline from the first game.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be released on August 5 (August 1 JST in Japan) for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Steam, and Switch. The CyberConnect2-developed 3D arena fighter continues the story from 2021’s Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles and will explore the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc in story mode.
